Saskatoon Berries rank highest in antioxidants in both fresh and fruit pulp relative to other common Fruits. In fact, the Saskatoon Berry has twice the levels of Antioxidants in comparison to the blueberry.

Micronutrients

Saskatoon Berries have significant amounts of micronutrients that are essential for metabolism and most serve as co-enzymes. Most notable Nutrients include Magnesium, Calcium, Potassium, Iron, Manganese and Vitamin E.

Fibre

Saskatoon Berries are rich in Dietary Fibre. 100 grams of dried Saskatoon Berries provide 24 grams of dietary Fibre, which is very close to the recommended daily intake.

Oil & Phytosterols

Nearly 2% of the weight of the dried saskatoon berries is oil and 81% of that is mono- and poly-unsaturated fatty acids, which are healthy oils. Omeg-3 and omega-6 oils contribute to 4% and 52% of the oil weight, respectively. One hundred grams of dried saskatoon berries carry about 117 mg of phytosterols. Beta- sitosterol and beta-sitostanol are the major phytosterols of saskatoon berries.
