EU WTO notification on adopted MRLs for plant protection products
Dear industry stakeholders,
The European Union (EU) has notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of adopted regulations concerning several existing Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) for plant protection products, including products that are used in Canada on agricultural exports to the EU.Â
Given the potential uses, you are invited to review the following WTO notifications to determine whether your industry could be impacted by these changes.
The proposals notified in G/SPS/N/EU/395, G/SPS/N/EU/396, G/SPS/N/EU/443 are now adopted by Commission Regulation amending Annexes II, III and V to Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards maximum residue levels (MRLs) for the substances listed below.

Dichlobenil is no longer approved in the EU and all authorizations for this substance have been revoked, the MRLs should remain in Annex V at the limit of determination (LOD).

The MRL will be lowered for lettuces. For certain other products, it recommended raising or keeping the existing MRLs.
